| Our Principal, Lerson Tanasugarn, put together LERSON.COM from his decade-long experience designing and running intellectual property offices in the settings of a university, a public-sector research laboratory complex, and a couple of private companies. LERSON.COM is our virtual office. Our web sites help us manage personnel from several provinces in Thailand and accommodate clients from anywhere in the world. Three of our four web sites are hosted with multiple T1 lines feeding right into the Internet backbone in the United States. Our fourth web site principally cators our Thai clients using the Thai language and may appear slower than usual for international customers. The contents of this site center around the services we provide for our clients. The site was originally launched late in 1999 to celebrate the new millennium. It was entirely refurbished about once a year on the average. What you see now is the result of a complete revamp of the site in August of 2003 to get rid of slow Flash movies and to make the pages more bandwidth-friendly so that our site can be reached by more people from remote parts of the world without broadband internet access. Our pride is in our quality of finished work, our service attitude, and our competitive price. We are patent agents licensed by the Thai Patent Office (under Department of Intellectual Property or DIP). We also work in collaboration with other local and foreign patent attorney and patent lawyer associate firms to file and prosecute international patent applications. So far we have successfully helped clients obtain utility patents in China, EU countries, and the US and we still have a few pending patent applications in the US, Europe and Japan. One reason for client using LERSON.COM is our proven ability to keep secrets. We are accustomed to the pharmaceutical and the cosmetics industries, where technical and advertizing trade secret precautions are of paramount importance to the survival of the clients. We have also managed intellectual property rights associated with inventions and creations owned by international financial, political, and royal dignitaries. Our clients are quite broad-spectrum. We have several corporate clients with combined registered capitals of over a billion US dollars. At the same time, we have public-sector clients like government offices and public universities with a lot of intellectual properties but minimal funding. On the other extreme, we occasionally help genious inventors whose formal education rarely exceeds the third grade. Domestically, we maintain a mailing list of about 1,000 local inventors who have been granted Thai patents. About 150 of these inventors have participated in an event or a program hosted by us.Internally, our team members are linked by our intranet. In a given week there are usually between 15 and 30 people working together in several projects on our network. These include patent application drafters, negotiators, researchers, policy advisors, economists, lawyers, and most importantly, our clients. Our intranet, appropriately called "LERSON.NET," links together our project staff, officers, and students. An archive of our work (with proper copyright clearance from our funding agencies in some cases) can be found at "LERSON.ORG," along with articles written by our founder and others. Legally, this web site is classified as an "advertising web site" since we do not process any on-line transaction at this time. Interested clients still have to mail, fax, or email us about what needs to be done. In the near future we hope to be able to implement an on-line transaction system where your requests can be securely processed and tracked conveniently from your computer in the privacy of your own home or office.
